Where Did Kyle Larson Qualify For The 2025 Indy 500?
See how fast Kyle Larson went in Saturday's opening round of Indianapolis 500 qualifying.

In light of Friday's second crash in less than a month at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the good news is Kyle Larson logged a clean Indy 500 qualifying session on Sunday at 231.326 mph. The not-so-good news is that his four-lap average is toward the bottom of the leaderboard.
The 32-year-old will start the 109th Indianapolis 500 in 21st position — outside of row seven — as he missed advancing into Sunday's Top 12 for the second year a row by nearly a half mile per hour (his Arrow McLaren teammate Christian Lundgaard was 12th at 231.809.

Larson started his qualifying with a four-lap average of 230.053 mph, which ranked him 16th of 19 drivers at the time and 25th overall after all 34 drivers attempted to qualify.
"Balance wise, it was comfortable," Larson said of his initial qualifying run on the FOX Sports broadcast. "I'm sure had more downforce in it just to get a good run in because I haven't been able to get in four laps yet. Good to get through it, just wish I had more speed. But we will get it ready to go again later and I'm sure we'll look at our teammates stuff a little bit and try and find some speed."
Larson went back out around 4 p.m. for his second attempt, which put him 16th at the time before five more drivers knocked him down the leaderboard. He tried taking a third attempt by going to the non-priority lane, but the session expired before he could go again (the priority lane is for drivers who want another immediate chance at qualifying, but negate their previous run doing so while the non-priority lane allows drivers to qualify again without giving up their previous time).
Last year, Larson placed sixth after Saturday's qualifications that locked him into Sunday's Top 12 and eventual Fast 6 berth. His four-lap average in 2024 was 232.563 mph.
