If you know Tony Stewart, you know that he will race anything with wheels and an engine. This is a man that has raced three different generations of NASCAR Cup cars, Midgets, Sprint Cars (winged and non-winged), Silver Crown cars, IndyCars, and now will be running a full season in a Top Fuel dragster in 2024. But which car is his favorite? And what track is his favorite at which to race it?

Tony Stewart has conquered many things in his illustrious racing career. From the IndyCar Series to NASCAR, Sprint Cars, track and series ownership and everything in between, “Smoke” has just about done it all. But in 2024 he’ll be taking on a new challenge: Top Fuel drag racing.

While not official, Tony Stewart has essentially retired from Sprint Car racing as a driver.  His last Sprint Car start came in April 2021 in a United Sprint Car Series event at Talladega Short Track, opting to hand the No. 14 over to Kerry Madsen for the remainder of 2021 before shutting the car down.

The racing community is mourning the loss of 24-year old racer Ashlea Albertson, a TQ midget driver for Tony Stewart Racing in the Tezos All Stars TQ Series. Albertson of Greenfield, Indiana was involved in a highway crash on Friday, August 18. The crash took place on Interstate 65 in Jackson County, according to the police report released by the Indiana State Police, and is believed to be a "road-rage incident."

Tony Stewart drove around Eldora Speedway like he owned the place during Thursday's SRX event at the Rossburg, Ohio dirt track.

The inaugural PRO Superstar Shootout was announced during a live press conference from the FloSports headquarters August 2, 2023. Drag Illustrated's Wes Buck hosted the superstar panel including PRO President Alan Johnson, VP Chad Head, Elite Motorsports' Richard Freeman, Tony Stewart, Steve Torrence, Erica Enders, Bob Tasca and FloRacing's Courtney Enders.

Tony Stewart is no stranger to being involved with massive motorsports events. In addition to his 17-year NASCAR Cup Series career, the driver known as “Smoke” has promoted one-of-a-kind events like the Eldora Million at Eldora Speedway, the dirt track racing facility he purchased in 2004.

History will be made Wednesday and Thursday night when one Sprint Car driver will win $1,002,023 at the Eldora Speedway.

After two multi-day sessions at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School and a handful of tests over the last two years in both a Top Alcohol dragster and a Top Fuel dragster, Tony Stewart is ready for the real thing.

Make no mistake about it, the World 100 at Eldora Speedway is one of the most difficult motorsports events to qualify for each year. Track owner Tony Stewart recognized that and announced Saturday that the starting lineup for the 52nd World 100 would be starting four additional drivers.

The seven-year itch is real in the racing sense.
