Kyle Bronson will have to keep up with the action live on FloRacing as he misses the first three nights of next week's Winter Nationals at East Bay Raceway in Gibsonton, FL, but he will try to steal the show during the Saturday night finale on Jan. 27.

“It’s something that we’ve been racing there for years so we always look forward to that race," Bronson said. "Even before I was racing I would look forward to watching. It’s an awesome race every year, so many great people travel down for it.”

So far, we know that Kenny Wallace, Kyle Strickler, Buzzy Adams, and Jeff Matthews have all confirmed they’ll be at East Bay for Speedweeks.

After a month off to celebrate the holidays, Florida racers are prepared to kiss the offseason goodbye and get back to racing in a big way. The Winter Nationals ushers in 14 nights of racing during the month of January and February in the Sunshine State.

People always ask what happens during the lull of the offseason. But, in reality the team is busier now than ever and Bronson feels like they’re running around “like chickens with their heads cut off.”

“We’ve been so busy trying to get everything ready for Speedweeks,” Bronson said of the offseason. “We’re going to be running Lucas Oil this year [so] we’ve been behind with everything. We just got our cars. I’m ready to go racing and get back to the race track. It’s the best part of everything to be at the race track racing.”

With Speedweeks comes prestige — if your driver is able to close the deal on Saturday night in the 75-lap finale event. Bronson has yet to win the main Feature even though he has been blessed with good luck at the track in the past.

When asked of his goal for Speedweeks, Bronson told Flo Racing: “To win! Are you kidding me? I’ve never won the big race. I’ve been leading it with 10 laps to go and have blown a tire. I’ve come second a few times. I’ve won nearly every Modified race I’ve ever wanted to minus this one. This one has eluded me a little bit so I want to win that one pretty bad.”

There is a strategy involved in longer races and running them for several years should give Bronson a leg up.

“That 75-lapper is all about tire wear and you have to have a lot of luck on your side,” Bronson said. “Everything has to go right. I think our stuff is better now than it’s ever been, and as always we have as good a chance to win as everybody.”
