Mathis Jr.'s Win Disallowed, Nosbisch Elevated In Dalton Myers 54

One week after the conclusion of the Dalton Myers 54 at East Bay Raceway Park, in Gibsonton FL, the race has a new winner. Jack Nosbisch Jr. has been elevated to the No. 1 slot after results came up negative for Steve Mathis Jr.’s tires.

In the closing laps, Nosbisch and Mathis battled side by side for several laps before the race was finally decided in Mathis’ favor.

No further information was released by track officials.

When Mathis crossed under the checkers first in the Dalton Myers 54, he credited strong restarts and tire management as the keys to victory. As it turned out, tire management did not factor in as he expected.

Restarts were still the key to winning the Dalton Myers because Nosbisch assumed his lead over Kyle Bronson on a mid-race restart.
