51 Legends Cars and 18 Bandoleros are officially entered into the Inaugural Kyle Busch Invitational Benefiting The Bundle of Joy Fund at Bowman Gray Stadium. The Friday night, August 21st race will be the first time in years that the Legends and Bandoleros take the stage at the historic quarter-mile oval in Winston-Salem, NC. The race, in honor of the late Kyle Busch, will raise funds and awareness for The Bundle of Joy Fund, a charitable foundation created by Kyle and his wife Samantha. 

The invitation-only INEX sanctioned race features a wide array of talent from the Legends and Bandolero racing ranks and more.  Several Cookout Summer Shootout Champions from the popular Tuesday night series at Charlotte Motor Speedway are at the top of the list. 

Colton Hale comes into the Kyle Busch invitational as one of the hottest Legends racers in the country.  Hale piloted his Joe Ryan Racecars no. 12 to five-wins at the Summer Shootout on his way to the Semi-Pro Championship.

Ben Morabito, who won the 2026 Legends Car Pro division title, brings his 860 Motorsports ride into Bowman Gray with a lot of momentum. He’s also been racing an SK Light at Stafford Motor Speedway as well as testing Late Models.

Tennessee racer Landon Thrasher was the Young Lions division Champion at Charlotte Motor Speedway. What’s most impressive, is Thrasher’s seven-wins in a division packed full of young talent. 

Jeff Bolen won the Masters Championship and will compete in the race at the Stadium. The Masters division is full of “older racers” who have traditionally been a backbone of the Legends scene. Kyle Busch was the 2025 Masters Division champion at the Summer Shootout in 2025.

There are a host of big names from the Legends scene entered into the race in Winston-Salem, NC. Former zMAX CARS Tour Rookie of the Year Cameron Bolin is entered after racing the full Shootout in the Pro division. Former Summer Shootout Pro division Champion and SMART Modified Tour Champion Caleb Heady returns to the seat of a Legends car. 2025 Wake County Speedway Late Model Champion Carson Haislip is entered into the Kyle Busch Invitational. 

Brexton Busch, the son of the race's namesake, comes into the Invitational in the Legends Young Lions class.  He is a 10-time winner at the Summer Shootout between Bandolero and Legends Car competition.

Some big name Bowman Gray Stadium drivers have accepted invitations to race in the event. 11-time Bowman Gray Stadium Champion Burt Myers is entered. The Walnut Cove, NC driver has 107 career wins at The Madhouse (106 in a Modified, 1 in the Sportsman division). John Holleman IV, a former Bandolero and Legends winner at Bowman Gray will pilot a no. 69 car. Holleman is a 29-time winner in the Stadium’s local divisions. “The Showstopper” Chris Fleming, a 19-time winner in the NASCAR Modified ranks at the Stadium is another big-name Stadium star on the entry list for the event. 

Bandolero drivers young and old are entered to race in a combined event pairing Bandits and Outlaws. Summer Shootout Bandits division Champion Maverick Bradshaw stole the show at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s tricky flat quarter-mile oval. He took six checkered flags at the Summer Shootout.  Meanwhile, Georgia driver Carson Sherman enters the top Outlaw division driver after his title performance during the popular summer series.

The Inaugural Kyle Busch Invitational Benefiting the Bundle of Joy Fund will be live on FloRacing on Friday August 21.  It’s part of a double-header weekend at Bowman Gray Stadium with the 2026 Championship finale taking place on Saturday night.  The final night of weekly racing is highlighted by a 150-lap NASCAR Modified race and is a double-points show for all divisions.
