The 2026 World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing got underway Friday night with five divisions in action at New Smyrna Speedway.

Super Late Models headlined the night with a 60-lap feature in honor the 60th edition of the traditional February event. Wisconsin native Gabe Sommers took advantage of misfortune for fellow Wisconsin native Derek Kraus on lap 35 when a right-front tire ended Kraus' dominant night out front.
From there, Sommers pulled away from the rest of the field to claim his first win in 29 starts at New Smyrna.
Spencer Davis, Max Reaves, Kyle Steckly and Michael Hinde completed the top five.
Cole Robie (Pro Late Models), Blake Clouser (Sportsman), Aaron Foye (Bomber A) and Chris Salter (Bomber B) also scored victories on Friday night.
