Veteran Sprint Car racer Mike Wagner has been treated and released from Central Pennsylvania-area hospital Geisinger Medical Center following Saturday's nasty Tuscarora heat race crash at Port Royal Speedway, the Harrisonville, Pa., driver's team said Monday via social media.

"Thanks to everyone who has reached out. Mike was checked out Saturday in Danville after the accident for memory loss (did not remember the accident) and vision issues where they confirmed a concussion," Wagner Motorsports said on Facebook. "Removed a piece of metal fragment from the left eye that they say was from the accident. He has a bruised lung and sore. All other scans have came back clear."

The 60-year-old competing in his 40th career Tuscarora 50 over the weekend tangled with Jonathan Preston battling for the fifth spot in their heat race that transferred the top-three into the Kubota High Limit Racing main event when they collided entering Turn 1.

Wagner took the brunt of the impact when his No. 55 machine snapped sideways and slammed the Turn 1 guardrail, prompting him to flip multiple times down the track's banking. The 15-time Port Royal victor who's tied for 23rd all-time on the half-mile's wins list did emerge from the wreck under his own power, albeit slowly, but was transported to the Geisinger Medical Center shortly thereafter.

The Wagner Motorsports team further shared that the elder Wagner is "feeling rough" but "already focused on getting Logan to Lernerville later this week," the 3/8-mile Sarver, Pa., track that hosts High Limit Racing's Commonwealth Clash on Friday and Saturday. The elder Wagner fields his son's Sprint Car entry this 2025 season and operates their family team as a two-car unit.

"There isn’t much that can keep him down long," Wagner Motorsports added.
