Kubota High Limit Racing turns its attention to the fifth annual Skagit Nationals at Washington's Skagit Raceway this weekend, which this year boasts one of the most lucrative winner's purses in all of Sprint Car racing at $126,000-to-win come Saturday night.

Thursday's preliminary action started with reigning Skagit Nationals Rico Abreu picking up where he left off in 2024 as the St. Helena, Calif., fan favorite captured the $10,000 opener from the seventh-starting spot.

Abreu passed mid-race leader Justin Peck (led laps 15-25) with five laps remaining for hos third-straight High Limit victory at Skagit (he also won last year's Friday night prelim) and fourth overall victory at the Skagit Nationals (he won a prelim in 2023).

Washington native Colton Heath put the High Limit regulars on upset alert early, leading the opening 14 laps from the pole before Peck snatched the lead on lap 15. Heath managed to eventually finish third.
