Kyle Larson's Double Ends In DNFs At Indy 500, Coke 600 | WATCH
Kyle Larson crashed out of both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday in another forgetful Double attempt.

Kyle Larson wanted to quickly move on from crashing out of Sunday's Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The problem is calamity also found him at Charlotte Motor Speedway's Coca-Cola 600.
After finishing 27th earlier in the afternoon at the Indy 500, his Coke 600 didn't go much smoother as Larson got caught up in a wreck on lap 247 that ended his race. It was the third incident of the day for Larson, who spun while leading the Coke 600 on lap 43 and crashed out of the Indy 500 on lap 92 of 200.
At the Coke 600, Daniel Suarez's tangled with Ryan Blaney after a three-wide move triggered the melee that collected Larson, who had nowhere to go when the spinning Suarez clipped his right-rear.

"I saw smoke and I tried to get left of the infield, and I just didn't get far enough left," Larson said on Amazon Prime's broadcast. "I got tagged and ended our night. A bummer of a day all-around. Made mistakes on my end and, yeah, I don't know. Got super loose into three out of nowhere early in the race, got the wall and had toe damage, but I thought the team did a good job getting us back to where we were somewhat comfortable there the last 100 laps. Just needed to chip away, and I thought we were still going to end up OK.
"Yeah just not the day I wanted, but a huge thank you to Rick Hendrick ... all of Hendrick Motorsports, everybody at Arrow McLaren, everybody involved who made the day memorable even though it wasn't memorable for a good reason. Just unfortunate and hopefully we can run it back someday."

Larson has no confirmed plans to race the Indy 500 in 2026.
Even if Larson didn't crash out of Sunday's Indy 500 on the lap-92 restart, where he downshifted trying to make an "overzealous" move in the midpack running 18th, he likely wouldn't have been able to complete all 200 laps in Indianapolis.
The first lap wasn't complete until 1:43 p.m., roughly 57 minutes behind schedule after a 42-minute rain delay and an extra 15 minutes to clean up the mishaps from Scott McLaughlin's bizarre crash on the warmup laps and Marco Andretti's opening lap crash.
As he and Hendrick Motorsports have said, the Coke 600 is the priority for Larson this year in his attempt at The Double — completing both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in the same day.
Last year, Mother Nature turned one of the biggest days of Larson's career into a conundrum when a four-hour rain delay at the Indy 500 derailed his highly touted run at The Double
Larson was never going to put himself in the predicament he did last year where he prioritized the Indy 500 over the Coke 600, which eventually only logged 249 of 400 laps in a rain-shortened event Larson could never start. But as it turned out, Larson never contended at the Indy 500 on Sunday where he stalled his car on pit road early on. It dropped him back from 19th to 31st before he battled back to 18th until his wreck.
BetMGM pegged Larson at +15000 on the betting line to win both the Indy 500 and Coke 600, which was a far-fetched 1 in 151 chance.
Larsonwass the betting favorite at the Coke 600 among oddsmakers at +500 to +600 depending on the sportsbook. At the Indy 500, he ranged between +1700 and +2200 as a fringe top-10 contender.
