The 109th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge lived up its billing as The Greatest Spectacle in Racing on Sunday as the 200-lap race featured no shortage of drama, thrilling moments and heart-breaking turns of events.

Managing his tires to the finish after a long green-flag to the end, Alex Palou emerged as the winner of the Indy 500 for the first time when he passed Marcus Ericsson with 14 laps to go, giving him five wins in six races to start the NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.

Fourteen different drivers led laps in a race where Indy 500 contenders Josef Newgarden, Scott McLaughlin and Kyle Larson failed to finish.

Note: Runner-up Marcus Ericsson, sixth-finishing Kyle Kirkwood and 12th-finishing Calum Ilott failed post-race tech and were credited with 31st, 32nd and 33rd)

Where did Kyle Larson finish at the Indy 500?

Kyle Larson was credited with a 27th place finish at the 2025 Indy 500. Larson was running 18th and making his way back through the field after a dropping back to 31st early on because of a stall on pit road, when he 32-year-old overstepped his race car through turn two and was along for the ride from there.

His No. 17 McLaren-Hendrick machine snapped around and collected Kyffin Simpson and Sting Ray Robb in the process. Larson emerged OK.
