5 Things To Know About The 2024 Kubota High Limit Racing Season

The Kubota High Limit Racing Series was introduced in 2022 and has grown with each year of its existence.

The first full season in 2023 included a 13-event schedule, while the 2024 calendar featured nearly 60 domestic races and a special three-race series in Australia.

In 2025, the action gets underway in March, with more than 60 events scheduled across 20 states.

The co-creators and co-owners of High Limit Racing are motorsport dynamo Kyle Larson and World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series veteran Brad Sweet.

The circuit’s upcoming season will bring them to 36 tracks across the United States from March through October.

High Limit Racing is expected to award $1 million in 2025, with $250,000 going to the winning team and driver, collectively.

But before the action kicks off March 13 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, let’s take a look back at some of the things to know about the successful 2024 season:

Who Won The Kubota High Limit Racing Events In 2024?

Kubota High Limit Racing 2024: The Ultimate Season Recap!

Sometimes, words just can’t do things justice. Here’s the ultimate 2024 season recap from the FloRacing YouTube page:

High Limit Racing Went Down Under In 2024

The calendar year, and the 2024 HLR schedule, ended with a special three-day feature in Perth, Australia, where hometown favorite James McFadden picked up a pair of wins but was denied the sweep when Larson took control on the final night.

McFadden was the winner on the first two nights and forever will be credited with winning the first High Limit Racing event outside of the United States. He led for 26 laps on the final night, too, but Larson stole the show and the victory on McFadden’s home turf.

The win for Larson, which netted him $100,000 AUD ($62,000 USD), made him the first person in Australian racing history with a six-figure payday. McFadden took home $50,000 AUD as the runner-up for the weekend.

In October 2024, McFadden announced he no longer would be racing sprint cars full-time in the United States after two years with High Limit Racing and a stint with World of Outlaws.

During the 2024 season, McFadden recorded all three of his official HLR victories (the special series in Australia did not count toward the normal points and stats), 17 top-5 finishes and 33 top-10 performances.

Brad Sweet Will Defend Kubota High Limit Racing Title

Sweet is more than just a behind-the-scenes entity with Kubota High Limit Racing – he also is one of the circuit’s most dominant performers.

The 39-year-old made a name for himself in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, which included five consecutive championships from 2019-2023, and he wasted little time finding success among the High Limit ranks.

Sweet was quiet in the inaugural 2023 season of High Limit Racing, but he was ever-present in 2024, winning 10 times on the way to the top of the points list.

Along with being the defending champion in the series, he’s also No. 2 on the all-time wins list behind Abreu (12).

Known as “The Big Cat,” Sweet will be back in 2025 to defend his HLR title, which he’ll do with a new crew chief for the first time since 2017.

Did You Know: Sweet and Larson are more than just business partners and on-track rivals – they’re also brothers-in-law, as Lason is married to Sweet’s sister, Katelyn.
