And while it hasn’t been confirmed yet if Thornton will be back with Koehler Motorsports in 2025, we do know one thing for certain: “RTJ” will have a new crew chief next season.

ROSSBURG, Ohio (Sept. 6) — At first, Chris Madden waved off the opportunity to address the incident that knocked him out of Friday’s opening 25-lap World 100 semifeature at Eldora Speedway. FloRacing pit reporter Ben Shelton asked for an on-camera interview, but Madden was too angry to oblige.

Chris Madden can’t yet picture an Eldora Speedway crown jewel in Rossburg, Ohio, without him in it as a driver. For that reason, the 49-year-old is gearing up for another run at an elusive Eldora crown jewel at Sept. 5-7’s World 100.

Chris Madden’s perspective in Thursday’s technical inspection line at Florence Speedway was decidedly different than usual. Instead of sitting behind the wheel, the Gray Court, S.C., driver stood outside the Koehler Motorsports car, carefully watching to make sure his team passed inspection with flying colors.

Strengthening crew support for new driver Ricky Thornton Jr., Koehler Motorsports this morning announced the addition of crown jewel-winning racer Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., as crew chief for the Mount Airy, N.C.-based team in its pursuit of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship.
