Spencer Hyde entered the 2023 Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod as a relative unknown on the national Pro Modified scene. He had success in his native Canada, but his 2023 victory over Kurt Steding in the $100,000 final round put him on an international pedestal. He’s since continued to prove his driving prowess by picking up a PDRA Pro Boost win in one of the class’s toughest fields, and he’s climbed the ranks by competing in NHRA Top Fuel with the license he earned just days before his WSOPM win.

Drag Illustrated, Bradenton Announce Three-Race Winter Pro Mod Series

Drag Illustrated and Bradenton Motorsports Park announced today the creation of a three-race Pro Modified series known as the Drag Illustrated Winter Series. Featuring the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals, the U.S. Street Nationals, and culminating with the World Series of Pro Mod, the Drag Illustrated Winter Series will bring the biggest names, best drivers and most competitive race teams in the world to Florida’s Gulf Coast for three of the biggest weekends in eighth-mile drag racing. Collectively, the Drag Illustrated Winter Series will pay out more than $300,000 in the Pro Mod division alone.

Inaugural Pro 10.5 Challenge Added to World Series of Pro Mod

The Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod continues to grow and evolve, as race officials announced the creation of the inaugural Pro 10.5 Challenge, which will run in conjunction with the 2024 Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod, March 1-3, at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Utilizing the established PDRA Pro Street rules format, the $25,000-to-win Pro 10.5 Challenge will be an invitation-only, 16-car shootout with more than 20 drivers attempting to qualify.
