Three drivers – Chris Windom, Tyler Courtney and Tanner Thorson – will fight it out for the right to earn the coveted title of 2020 USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget champion this Tuesday night, November 17, in the NOS Energy Drink November Classic at California’s Bakersfield Speedway.

Tyler Courtney picked up where he left off in both 2018 and 2019 to become the first driver to win the final night of the Western World Championships in a 410 c.i. sprint car in three consecutive years, pulling off the trifecta Saturday night in the AMSOIL USAC CRA / Southwest Sprint Car portion of the 53rd annual event presented by San Tan Ford.

Three-hundred-sixty-four nights earlier, Buddy Kofoid arrived at Arizona Speedway’s Western World Championships as a newcomer to the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget wars when he made his first series start in the event, finishing 22nd.

The schedule for the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship’s season-ending west coast trip in the month of November will have another new look with the announcement of the cancellation of the Hangtown 100 at Placerville (Calif.) Speedway and the addition of two events at Merced (Calif.) Speedway on Nov. 20-21.

Tanner Carrick, who competed for Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports on the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget trail from 2017-19, has rejoined the team for the remainder of the 2020 season, beginning Nov. 13-14 in the Western World Championships presented by San Tan Ford at Arizona Speedway.

In every year of the Western World Championship’s half-a-century-plus existence, Sprint Cars have maintained an integral presence in the event in a variety of different variations and sanctions.
