It's the biggest event of the year at the track they call the "Steel Palace."

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Oswego Speedway placed two Classic Weekends on the schedule. The first of the two weekends was held in May, and now it's time for the traditional September event this weekend.

Novelis Supermodifieds will take center stage for the 200-lap main event on Sunday afternoon, but a variety of divisions will be competing throughout the weekend.

Following time trials for the 65th Annual Budweiser International Classic on Friday, the New York Super Stocks will highlight Friday night's racing with the 75-lap Dave London Memorial. Forty one cars are currently entered for the race. Compacts will also be competing in the New York State Compact Championship race that night.

Saturday's racing program will be highlighted by an appearance from the ground-pounding Modifieds of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. NEMA Lites, NEMA Midgets and the National Compact Touring Series will also be in action.

All divisions except for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will be broadcast live on FloRacing.

That all leads into the main event on Sunday featuring the Novelis Supermodifieds, Small Block Supermodifieds and 350 Supermodifieds.

A stout field of Supermodified stars will be competing in the event, including track champion and recent Mr. Supermodified winner Dave Shullick, Jr. He'll be joined by a list of former Classic winners that includes five-time winner Otto Sitterly, Jeff Abold, Joe Gosek, Tyler Thompson, Bob Bond and defending winner Michael Barnes.

Sitterly will be looking to become the fourth driver to win the Classic six times, which would put him on a list that includes racing legend Bentley Warren, Nolan Swift and Greg Furlong.

In addition to the Supermodified stars that will be chasing the biggest Supermodified win of the season, a few outsiders will be looking to spoil the party.

Bobby Santos III, a former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion, will be making his 14th career start in the race with hopes of besting his second-place finish in 2004.

Max McLaughlin, who races everything from Tour-type Modifieds to Big-Block Modifieds, will also be competing in the race. "Mad Max" won a Supermodified race at Oswego earlier this year driving the same CraZ8 car he'll competing in this weekend.

Fan favorite "The Jersey Jet" Joey Payne, Jr. will be competing in the race for the 24th time after finishing fifth in May's International Classic.

The speeds will be fast, the stars will be shining and the Steel Palace will be rocking this weekend during the 65th Annual Budweiser International Classic at Oswego.
