Brian Brown makes the Flo50 with 10 wins, 31 top-five finishes, and 45 top-10 results across the World of Outlaws, All Stars, Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series (ASCS), and the Knoxville Raceway’s weekly show. Seven of his wins came in a 410 sprint and three in a 360.

And while the Knoxville Raceway success does not factor into his percentage points totals, it speaks to his overall strength as a driver and it allowed him to carry that momentum into the touring series.

Brown’s first win came on April 7 at Cocopah Speedway in Yuma, Arizona, where he led the race from flag to flag. From that win, his season sped up with a second victory coming in a Knoxville Raceway Saturday feature on April 22. Brown beat out both the Madsen brothers, Kerry and track champion Ian, Aaron Reutzel, and Terry McCarl.

Two weeks later, Brown bested the Knoxville field again to claim his third win of the season before traveling to Jackson, Minnesota, to win his first and only Midwest Thunder Sprints win of the season. When he returned to Knoxville the next night, he followed his win with a podium finish of third.

Brown’s first 360 win came in Moberly, Missouri, in the ASCS show at Randolph County Raceway. From Saturday, July 28, until to Friday, September 22, Brown had a 16-race streak of top-10 finishes including winning the Cappy Classic to kick off Knoxville’s 5-Hour Energy Nationals and back-to-back All Stars wins.

Brown’s luck turned around with the All Stars in his last two races with that series in 2017, winning back-to-back in territory heavily policed by the Pennsylvania Posse.

His final win of the season was the most important for the sprint driver. He wheeled to victory in front of his hometown crowd at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City the day after his birthday. Brown was dedicated to keeping his lead to score the win. He fought off furious slide jobs from the father-son pair of Jac and Sheldon Haudenschild. Kerry Madsen through a few good sliders in as well.

*Percentage points utilize the baseline belief that a win is a win in the major series covered. One hundred points are awarded to first and the points decrement below that as a percentage of the field. For example, in a 25-car field, each position behind the winner is worth four fewer points. In races with incredibly large fields, the points decrement to a less extreme degree. A 50-car field decrements two points per position, and drivers earn points even if they fail to make the A-main.
