The zMAX CARS Tour announced its 15-race schedule for the 2027 season on Thursday morning. The schedule features three tracks that are new or returning to the schedule after some time away, as well as the usual crowd favorites that have become tradition over the last decade.
In total, the CARS Tour will hold 15 race weekends at 15 different race tracks across five different states in 2027. Races will be held in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and for the first time, Florida.
The CARS Tour will bring Late Model Stock Cars the furthest south they’ve ever been to kick off the season at the Freedom Factory in Bradenton, Florida on Saturday, February 6 in what is sure to be one of the most anticipated CARS Tour races of all time. NASCAR Hall-of-Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., and NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick have already announced their plans to compete in the event, as well as track owner and YouTube sensation “Cleetus McFarland.” The season-opener at Freedom Factory will be the first of 13 planned doubleheaders for the CARS Tour with the Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model divisions both in action.
Following Freedom Factory, the CARS Tour heads north to Lucama, North Carolina’s Southern National Motorsports Park on Saturday, February 27 for another doubleheader.
After nearly a month off, the Late Model Stock Cars will head to the tight quarter-mile confines of Raleigh, North Carolina’s Wake County Speedway.
The next doubleheader will take place on Saturday, April 10 as the CARS Tour returns to the historic Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. The CARS Tour made its maiden trip to the historic high-banked short track in 2026 and was greeted by a massive crowd.
The next two races will take place at two mainstays on the CARS Tour calendar. Both divisions will head to Sophia, North Carolina’s Caraway Speedway on Saturday, April 24, and then to Altamahaw, North Carolina’s Ace Speedway on Saturday, May 8.
The historic North Wilkesboro Speedway returns to the schedule once again in 2027, and the CARS Tour will once again serve as an appetizer of sorts on NASCAR weekend. This year, the CARS Tour will race on Wednesday, May 19 with both divisions set to practice and qualify on Tuesday, May 18.
The final solo race for the Late Model Stock Cars will take place on Saturday, June 5 at Hampton, Virginia’s Langley Speedway. The rest of the season will be all doubleheaders.
Coeburn, Virginia’s Lonesome Pine Raceway will join the zMAX CARS Tour calendar for the first time in 2027. The ⅜-mile short track will see both the Late Model Stock Cars and the Pro Late Models in action on Saturday, June 19.
After taking the entire month of July off, the CARS Tour will return to action on Saturday, August 7 at Newton, North Carolina’s Hickory Motor Speedway.
The CARS Tour will return to Anderson Motor Speedway in Anderson, South Carolina for the third year in a row on Saturday, August 21.
Just one week later the CARS Tour will be back in action at Tri-County Speedway in Granite Falls, North Carolina on Saturday, August 28.
After five years away, the CARS Tour will return to Radford, Virginia to race at Pulaski County Motorsports Park for the fifth time in Tour history on Saturday, September 11. The track once known as Motor Mile Speedway has seen Josh Berry, Bobby McCarty, and Deac McCaskill take CARS Tour victories there.
The penultimate race of the 2027 season will take place for the second consecutive year at Tennessee’s high-banked bullring known as Newport Speedway on Saturday, September 25. Caden Kvapil and Mason Walters won the inaugural races at Newport Speedway in 2026 for the Late Model Stock Cars and Pro Late Models.
And for the second season in a row, the zMAX CARS Tour will crown its champions at Virginia’s South Boston Speedway. The season finale will take place at the historic short track on Saturday, October 16.
More information surrounding the 2027 zMAX CARS Tour season is still to come.
