The top six drivers in qualifying broke the previous track record for Late Model Stock Cars at Martinsville Speedway in qualifying for this weekend's ValleyStar Credit Union 300 with Tristan McKee setting the new record with a lap of 19.550 seconds around the historic half-mile paperclip in Virginia.
McKee was the last of the 83 drivers to take time, dethroning this year's Brickyard 400 winner Corey Heim from the top spot. Heim's lap was 19.568 seconds. McKee will start the all-important heat races from the pole position in the first heat race. Heim will roll off from the top spot in the second heat race. Dillon Harville was the third-fastest qualifier and will start from the pole in the third heat race, while Virginia Triple Crown points leader Caden Kvapil will lead the fourth and final heat race to the green flag.
