
It’s been four years since the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour last rumbled to life at New Hampshire’s Claremont Motorsports Park, but the ground-pounders will be back in action at the 0.333-mile oval once again on Friday night.
The return to Claremont will be the fourth race in the 40-plus year history of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Richie Evans beat Jimmy Spencer for the inaugural win at the facility in the Tour’s inaugural season of 1985.
Since then, just James Civali and Jon McKennedy have claimed NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victories at Claremont. McKennedy is the only former winner on the entry list for Friday’s race, so that means there’s a good chance of a new winner.
