We’re back with our fifth edition of the 2026 Sprint Car power rankings, and Tyler Courtney is making noise after Sunday’s thrilling World of Outlaws victory at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind.
With his first triumph since his back injury at Eldora Speedway last July sidelined him for seven months — a barnburner of a feature in which he outdueled top-ranked Buddy Kofoid — the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing campaigner cracks the top 10, surging 10 spots from No. 19.
Kerry Madsen (Saturday’s High Limit winner at Lucas Oil Speedway), Chase Dietz (Saturday’s winner at Lincoln Speedway), nd Troy Wagaman Jr. (Friday’s winner at Williams Grove Speedway) are among the biggest movers as well, with Wagaman making his Top 25 debut.
As always, these rankings weigh recent races heavily while balancing the latest performances, wins, consistency and context. Circumstances matter — whether it’s a freak incident, accident or mechanical misfortune — because those details are important in a sport separated by razor-thin margins.
There’s also a balance between production and participation. Corey Day, for instance, is top-five material in pound-for-pound metrics, but a three-race sample size keeps him behind full-timers who’ve consistently delivered so far this season. The same goes for Kyle Larson, Brad Sweet and James McFadden.
