The Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing campaign continued Friday in the Lone Star State as the third-year national tour visited Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas, for the first time.
Adding to his dazzling start that's been perhaps the most compelling storyline from the outset this Sprint Car season, Tanner Thorson was the star of the night once again at the 3/8-mile oval, leading all 30 laps for his second victory over the last four series races.
Thorson extends his points lead to 21 markers over Aaron Reutzel, who stayed within striking distance of the eventual winner down the stretch, finishing 0.701 seconds behind.
Rico Abreu was part of the lone stoppage of the evening, colliding with a John Carney's No. 2B machine in traffin on Lap 16. Abreu, who was fifth at the time, restarted 14th and could only finish 12th.
