The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour heads to the Commonwealth of Virginia for a 200-lap showdown at the historic Martinsville Speedway with more than 30 cars expected to battle it out for a coveted grandfather clock.

Friday night’s race marks the first time that the Mod Squad will head to Martinsville without a championship on the line since 2021 when Martinsville opened the season. Eric Goodale beat out Tyler Rypkema and Justin Bonsignore for the victory that night. Since then, Martinsville has been the season finale for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour for each of the last four seasons. That role this year is held by Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

Four-time champion Justin Bonsignore has taken home the grandfather clock following each of the last two races at Martinsville Speedway by a combined margin of victory of 6.004-seconds. Bonsignore has led more than half of the race in each of the last two races as well, leading 136 laps in 2024 and 122 laps in 2025.

Friday night’s race will be the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour debut of 14-year-old Paulie Hartwig III. The third-generation driver from New Jersey finished third in the SMART Modified Tour championship standings in 2025, and scored his first World Series of Asphalt victory at New Smyrna Speedway this past February.
