The 2026 Tulsa Shootout is underway and the heat races have brought a ton of action to the track early on Dec. 31.

All's fair in love and war, but what about racing against your family members? Well in this Tulsa Shootout, it's a family affair as Nascar legend Kyle Busch in back in the drivers seat. This time though, he has some very familiar competition, his son Brexton Busch.
As Kyle Busch took to his first face of the day in the A-Class Heat, he pieced together a solid performance, jumping from P10 all the way up to P3.
However, for Brexton Busch, there was some notes on his dad's performance on the track.
The message when asked about what his dad could do better was simple:
"Run Higher" - Brexton Busch on what dad, Kyle Busch could have done better in A-Class Heat Race
All light-hearted jokes aside, the two Busch family members will see the track together at the Tulsa Shootout when they lineup for the Winged Outlaw Race 182. Kyle will be starting P7, while Brexton will be just a few places ahead in P5.
