The 58th Annual Snowball Derby presented by FloSports arrives Dec. 3–7 at Five Flags Speedway, bringing the country’s top Super Late Model drivers to Pensacola for one of short track racing’s crown jewels. 

The week builds toward Sunday’s 300-lap finale, where a $50,000 prize and the Tom Dawson trophy await the winner. With four days of practice, qualifying and feature racing across multiple divisions, the Derby remains the pinnacle pavement event of the year — but everything centers on the moment the green flag drops for Sunday’s main event.

Fans following the schedule closely will see a full slate of activity leading into the weekend, including Snowflake 125 qualifying and the Outlaw and Snowflake features on Saturday night. But the biggest question every December is simple: When does the Snowball Derby actually start? 

This year, teams will roll to the grid Sunday morning after tech inspections and pre-race ceremonies, setting the tone for the sport’s most intense afternoon on a worn, abrasive half-mile that always demands perfection.

Driver introductions and pre-race festivities begin at noon CST, but the green flag on the 58th Snowball Derby is set for 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, Dec. 7 — the moment the entire week builds toward, streamed live exclusively on FloRacing.

When a race weekend is set in Florida, weather always seems to find a way to sneak its way into the action! 

Due to inclement rain on Friday, Dec. 5, all of the 58th annual Snowball Derby  Modifieds of Mayhem on-track action has been moved to Monday, Dec. 8. Time have not been given for these changes, but will be published as soon as the information becomes available.
