Vermont's most prestigious short track race took place Sunday afternoon at Thunder Road Speedbowl with the 63rd running of the Vermont Milk Bowl. For the second straight year, Marcel Gravel claimed the victory and kissed the cow in victory lane. 

After setting fast time in qualifying on Saturday, Gravel picked up where he left off one year ago by winning the opening segment over Raphael Lessard and Jason Corliss. Following an invert, Gravel had to avoid near disaster on the opening lap of segment two when multiple cars were involved in a major accident on the frontstretch.

From there, Gravel continued his march to the front and began his Milk Bowl title defense by winning the first two segments. A relatively drama-free final segment saw Gravel once again drive towards the front, all the way to third, which earned him a total of five points and his second consecutive Milk Bowl victory. 

Unofficially, Jason Corliss earned runner-up honors with finishes of third, third and fifth for an overall score of 11 points. Kaiden Fisher completed the podium with finishes of fifth, fifth and second for an overall score of 12 points. 

Christopher Pelkey (4-7-6) and Raphael Lessard (2-8-8) rounded out the top five. 

Following multi-car crashes on the opening lap of the first two segments, 19 of the 31 starters started the final segment.
