Port Royal Speedway hosted the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the sixth annual Rumble by the River, the two-day event that started with Friday's $10,000-to-win program and culminated with Saturday's $50,000-to-win finale.

Prevailing over Chris Madden in a back-and-forth battle, Ricky Thornton Jr. rallied after falling out of the lead with 13 laps left to lead the final five laps en route to the weekend sweep with his second straight victory at The Speed Palace.

Thornton led a total of 19 laps (Lap 24-37 and 46-50) while topping Madden by 1.754 seconds. Madden controlled a race-high 31 laps — leading the first 23 circuits before Thornton took control and then Laps 38-45 when he slid Thornton on a restart. Devin Moran rounded out the podium in third.
