Port Royal Speedway hosts the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the sixth annual Rumble by the River, the two-day event that started with Friday's $10,000-to-win program before rounding out with Saturday's $50,000-to-win finale.

Ricky Thornton Jr. fought off a late-race challenge from Jonathan Davenport to claim Friday night’s caution-free 40-lap feature The reigning Lucas Oil Series champion led the race’s first 29 laps until Davenport slid ahead to lead lap 30. Thornton regained the lead on lap 31 and eventually topped Davenport by 1.648 seconds for win No. 11 of 2025 on the tour and the $10,000 top prize.

Brandon Sheppard rounded out the podium in third, collecting his ninth total podium over the last 21 races since Rocket1 Racing debuted its new XR2 chassis on June 29.
