One of the most intense qualifying sessions in short track racing was held Tuesday evening prior to the 46th Annual Slinger Nationals at Slinger Super Speedway. Three-time Slinger Nationals winner Ty Majeski turned in a a fast lap of 11.075 seconds to top the field of 32 Super Late Models.

Andrew Morrissey, who won last year's race before getting disqualified in post-race technical inspection, was the only other driver to enter the 11.0 range with an 11.090 second lap. Luke Fenhaus, Casey Johnson and Penn Sauter completed the top five. 

A 12-car invert will be used to set the field for Tuesday night's feature, putting Bubba Pollard on the pole. 

Only 16 of the 31 drivers who recorded a lap have locked into the 200-lap main event on time. Despite having identical qualifying times of 11.202, Dennis Prunty claimed the final qualifying spot over Brad Mueller as a result of going out earlier in qualifying. 

The remainder of the field will head to a qualifying race later this evening, with the top four drivers transferring to the main event.
