The 46th Annual Slinger Nationals are set for this week, taking place Monday, July 7 and Tuesday, July 8 at Slinger Speedway. The prestigious Super Late Model race will see many of the nation's best short track racers battling for glory.

To get you ready for this week's event, we've put together a list of 10 things to know about the 2025 Slinger Nationals.

1) The 46th Annual Slinger Nationals Super Late Model race is 200 laps. In addition to the main event, the Uptown Motorcars Late Models will race on the same night.

2) You can watch all the action live Monday, July 7 and Tuesday, July 8 on FloRacing. Additionally, the entire Slinger Super Speedway season can be viewed live on FloRacing. If you’re not already a FloRacing subscriber, click here to sign up today.

3) Tickets are still available for the race, but they are going fast. Click here if you want to see the race in person in Slinger, Wisconsin.

4) The starting field is normally 26-27 cars with 16 locking in through time trials, four from the qualifying race, and the rest of the field filled out with provisionals.  If there are more than 36 cars attempting to qualify for the race, the qualifying format will be adjusted.

5) The winner of the Slinger Nationals is awarded the Larry Detjens Trophy. Back in 1980, Detjens won the first Slinger Nationals crown. He was killed a season later in a crash at Wisconsin International Raceway.  Now the race in his honor is run at another track, but the trophy with his name is awarded at the Slinger Nationals.

6) The Slinger Nationals track record for the Super Late Models is 11.133 seconds set in 2021 by Luke Fenhaus. That year Fenhaus was able to overcome the draw to charge from 12th to win the race.

7) The Slinger National had a record 61 entries in 2003. That’s the most in the modern era.

8) The only other time the Slinger Nationals was run on July 8 was back in 2020 when Ty Majeski won the race.  Majeski led 146 laps that day and scored his second win in the historic race.

9) While the majority of the 35 entries hail from the state of Wisconsin, drivers have traveled from as far away as California, Georgia and Florida for this year’s event. Derek Thorn will represent the state of California, while former Slinger Nationals winner Bubba Pollard returns to represent Georgia. Nick Neri and Steve Dorer have made the trip from the Sunshine State of Florida.

10) Few short track events can match the star power of the Slinger Nationals winners list—it's one of the most prestigious in the sport. The list of former winners includes: Alan Kulwicki, Dick Trickle, Mark Martin, Joe Shear, Butch Miller, Matt Kenseth, Rich Bickle, Kyle Busch, William Byron and Ty Majeski, among others.
