Results from Friday's final Indianapolis 500 practice on Carb Day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The final practice session for the 109th Indianapolis 500, better known as Carb Day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, saw two-time defending champion Josef Newgarden top the 33-car field with a best single-lap speed of 225.667 mph, showcasing his strength despite starting from the last row on Sunday because of a penalty.
Takuma Sato (225.415 mph) and Scott Dixon (225.200 mph) followed closely, reinforcing their Indy 500-winning pedigree. Will Power, also penalized to start 33rd, posted the fifth-fastest lap, while Helio Castroneves, chasing a record fifth Indy 500 win, ranked seventh.
Kyle Larson, who starts 19th on Sunday, came 26th in practice. Mechanical issues disrupted the session for some.
Ryan Hunter-Reay escaped unharmed after his car caught fire while Graham Rahal faced an engine failure. Rookie polesitter Robert Shwartzman struggled, ranking 29th, and indicated challenges adapting to race trim.
