2025 Indianapolis 500 Fast Friday Practice Results

On a day where Kyle Larson and Kyffin Simpson both crashed, Scott McLaughlin led Fast Friday at the Indy 500 with a top speed of 233.954 mph and a no-tow fifth-best speed of 232.005 mph, showcasing the same strength that led to Team Penske’s front-row sweep of last year's event.
Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing posted the second-best overall lap of 232.561 mph, which was also his best non-tow speed that ranked fastest among practice competitors.
Alex Palou, also from Ganassi, placed third while Kyle Kirkwood and Colton Herta rounded out the top five, respectively, highlighting Andretti Global’s pace.
The session saw intense qualifying simulations, with turbo boosts replicating Saturday’s setup, pushing speeds higher than earlier practices from this week. Larson’s crash in turn three wasn't as damaging as it appeared, as his Arrow McLaren team was able to make repairs on the No. 17 car and avoid going to a backup.
