Spencer Bayston Eager To Begin Next Chapter With Jason Meyers Racing
Spencer Bayston is beginning a new chapter with Jason Meyers Racing in 2025, chasing a Kubota High Limit Racing championship and new success.

In 2025, Spencer Bayston starts a new chapter in his career and it’s arguably his most important.
After a period of uncertainty on his next step – one of the worst feelings for a Sprint Car driver – the 26-year-old Lebanon, Indiana native found himself shaking hands with industry icon Jason Meyers and putting his seat into one of the most potent cars in the sport today. As a result, he’s set to chase the Kubota High Limit Racing championship in a full-time ride aboard the Jason Meyers Racing, Sander Engineering No. 14.
“Free agency is not a fun thing,” Bayston recalled on the stress of lining up his 2025 plans. “We still put together our deal at a decent time in October, though, so securing something that early takes a lot of weight off your shoulders. The feeling of security and knowing you have a ride plus it being early enough to run a handful of races together has better prepared us for this year. It kind of gives you a bit of a step up to where you can go into the new year fresh, and it allows you to build through the winter and gives all of us more confidence.”
Working alongside veteran crew chief “Noisey” Shane Bowers, Bayston was able to get five races under his belt at the end of 2024 in the Jason Meyers Racing ride. Before the Kubota High Limit Racing campaign begins in Las Vegas on March 13, the new pairing took the No. 14 down south for a few races with the World of Outlaws to further grow accustomed with each other.
“It’s been really enjoyable,” he spoke on the beginning stages of the new relationship. “I feel like I’ve already learned so much in the short stint from last year as far as communication and what goes into their program. Jason is a master of managing people and assembling teams, and he’s done a great job building this group. I feel like everyone clicks well together and chemistry is a major component in our sport. We’ve got great personnel, some upbeat personalities, and that all goes a long way. It’s a fun group to be around when you share a similar goal of wanting to compete at the highest level and win races.”
Also on the road with the Jason Meyers Racing No. 14 team is a pair of passionate young crew guys, who’ve grown up in the sport their whole lives. Pennsylvanian Lawton Leppo – the son of World of Outlaws winner Brian Leppo – will be car chief with the tire specialist role belonging to Californian Cobe Stidham – the son of west coast gasser Craig Stidham.
A year ago, Bayston completed Kubota High Limit Racing’s inaugural national season with 13 top-five finishes – putting his former CJB Motorsports No. 5 ride eighth in points. On the flip side, the Jason Meyers Racing No. 14 finished sixth in points with pilot Corey Day racking up seven series wins, including the $100,070-to-win Gold Cup Race of Champions.
“I’m most excited for the California swings, especially with it being the backyard for this team and considering how they performed out there last year,” Bayston mentioned looking at the 2025 schedule. “We have a lot of great partners with this JMR crew, and it gives everyone a chance to come be part of the races with us. It’ll be nice to have such a big team atmosphere on the west coast.”
Of all the “silly season” craziness to unfold this off-season, the No. 14 ride was among the best options available – if not the best. No matter who filled the seat, they were being tasked to fill some big shoes following in the footsteps of teenage phenom Corey Day, who performed so well that a NASCAR development deal came calling from Hendrick Motorsports. In total, Day won 10 Sprint Car races last year including seven with High Limit, a World of Outlaws show at Knoxville Raceway, and NARC’s Super Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway.
“I think the pressure is a privilege,” Bayston said on this chance. “To be in this type of position where you’re jumping in a car that put up 10+ wins, made a huge splash, and did well enough that Corey is moving up to the next level, I think it’s a privilege to be considered for a ride like this. They expect or see me being able to fill those shoes, so me as a driver, my goal is to go out and pick up where they left off with him.
All of tools are there for us to success. It just comes down to meshing with Noisey and the crew. Once you’re in the car, you can’t think about all those things hanging over your head. Through the off-season and prepping for 2025 it’s something that is on your mind, but you can turn that pressure into motivation to hunker down, focus, and do what it takes to get those wins.”
While Bayston is the lead man of the full-time #14 with Kubota High Limit Racing, Corey Day will still have a second Jason Meyers Racing entry ready for him whenever his schedule allows for Sprint Car races in between his busy 2025 plans that include NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Truck Series shows.
A winner at four tracks on the 2025 docket, Bayston has visited victory lane at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway and Pennsylvania’s Port Royal Speedway – which host three of High Limit’s biggest events between the Bob Weikert Memorial on May 23-25, the Joker’s Jackpot on July 16-17, and the Tuscarora 50 on September 4-6. The Hoosier native has also won at both Indiana venues on the Kubota High Limit Racing calendar and he’ll return to each during the famed “Month of May” with trips to Kokomo Speedway on Monday, May 12 and Lawrenceburg Speedway on Friday, May 30.
Of the 35 tracks scheduled, Bayston will be making his first laps at nine of them – Las Vegas Motor Speedway (NV), Central Arizona Speedway (AZ), Route 66 Motor Speedway (TX), Dodge City Raceway Park (KS), Texarkana 67 Speedway (AR), Ransomville Speedway (NY), 141 Speedway (WI), Red Cedar Speedway (WI), and Florence Speedway (KY).
Bayston’s 2025 campaign with Kubota High Limit Racing will begin at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a two-day event on March 13 and 15. The 60-race tour will conclude with All-In Championship Weekend at Texas Motor Speedway on October 17 and 18. Tickets for select events are now available here.
