Elite Motorsports Pro Stock driver Aaron Stanfield suffered a massive engine at the NHRA Route 66 Nationals. The failure happened just as he crossed the finish line after winning the first round of eliminations against Fernando Cuadra Jr. Stanfield had a reaction time of .002 and made a solid pass before the failure occurred. He quickly exited the vehicle and walked away unscathed, while his car was not so lucky.
His team went on to swap engines and come back to make it all the way to the finals where he earned a runner-up finish at Route 66 Dragway.
