The NHRA Fuel Tech Pro Modified Series kicked off last week at the NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway.

In the first round of eliminations of the NHRA Gator Nationals, the fans were gifted a thrilling start to the Pro Modified season with a 2+ minute 'staging duel' between NHRA Series Champion Kris Thorne, and Drag Illustrated's Outlaw Racer of the Year, Manny Buginga.

Multi-time U.S. Street Nationals presented by M&M Transmission winner Ken Quartuccio scored his first Pro Mod class win at the long-running event Sunday night at Bradenton Motorsports Park. In the Outlaw Pro Mod presented by FuelTech and PJS Racing final round, Quartuccio used a 3.652-second pass at 204.35 mph to defeat Raymond Matos and his 3.677 at 202.67 to collect the trophy and the $32,000 check.

The 27th Annual Mickey Thompson Million Dollar Race saw a record 496 entries in competition, making it the highest payday in the history of the event. When the dust and smoke cleared, 23-year-old Tucker Kanselaar of Iowa was crowned the 27th winner of the historic and prestigious Million Dollar Drag Race. Kanselaar defeated Rayce Tarleton of Salem, AL, the last remaining door car left in the race.
