The 18th running of the Rio Grande Waste Systems Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts at New Mexico's Vado Speedway Park completed the fourth round of the six-race miniseries on Friday.

Bobby Pierce couldn't be topped for the second race in a row and for third time in four races at the 3/8-mile oval as the Oakwood, Ill., hotshoe beat Garrett Alberson by 0.493 of a second for the $11,000 payday.

Pierce, who led the final 26 laps on Friday, has a chance to bank the Penske Racing Shocks Paydirt Jackpot bonus of $100,000 should he win Saturday's and Sunday's features and $25,000 if he wins one of the final two races. Kyle Larson started 22nd and finished fifth.

Second-starting B.J. Robinson led the opening five laps but finished 21st after right-front damage from brushing the wall took him out of the running. Two cautions slowed the race, the first for Chase Junghans on lap 17 and Collen Winebarger on lap 27.
