Kyle Larson Powers To First Sprint Car Win Of 2023 With All Stars At Atomic
Kyle Larson topped Tyler Courtney in Thursday's All Star Circuit of Champions event at Atomic Speedway.
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Kyle Larson started fast and finished strong to notch win No. 1 of his Sprint Car campaign Thursday with the All Star Circuit of Champions at Atomic Raceway Park.
The Elk Grove, Calif., native led the final 17 of 30 laps in the $10,000 event in which he finished 1.243 seconds ahead of early leader Tyler Courtney of Indianapolis, Ind. While Larson captured the night's fast qualifier honors, Courtney from the pole and led laps 1-12.
Larson swept around Courtney in traffic around the 3/8-mile oval and then held off the two-time series champion in a one-lap dash at the finish. Rico Abreu of St. Helena, Calif., started sixth and finished third.
Parker Price-Miller of Kokomo, Ind., finished fourth from the 10th-starting spot, as Cale Thomas of Fairland, Ind., placed fifth. Lance Dewease from Fayetteville, Pa. — making his first-ever appearance at Atomic — earned hard-charger in his 22nd-to-eighth performance.
Angola, Ind.'s Zeb Wise, who entered the night as the top fulltime series driver atop the All Star standings, finished 16th.
