Although this race marks the official season opener for the series, Ensslin and team attended the much anticipated Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod earlier in March. After a not so covetous showing there, the team went back home and disassembled the entire drivetrain from the firewall back to try and find an answer as to why their performance wasn’t up to their standards they set for the team.

"We immediately sent the clutch off to Pat Norcia at Ram Clutches where he found some issues in the counterweight fingers on the hat", said Ensslin. "After realizing we needed a new clutch, we quickly ordered one in hopes it was the solution to our problems.”

Although Ensslin and team would have hoped for a better outcome at the World Series of Pro Mod, it was crucial to make these changes and fish out the problem before the PDRA season started.

"I’m just thankful we were able to find the problem before we started chasing points in the PDRA", Ensslin stated. "It’s time to get our act together and go out and compete with the best in Extreme Pro Stock. We’re confident by the end of the weekend everyone will know we can be competitive and won’t be able to take us lightly. Old ‘Seabiscuit’ is getting the final touches on her before being loaded up to make the 540 mile ride to Galot."
