Week in Sprints: Outlaws Invade Texas, Hafertepe Mauls Missouri
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series had a three-day Texas shootout. The Gator Bash at Gator Motorplex in Willis was postponed from earlier in the season. That allowed the series to squeeze in a Thursday warmup for the Texas Outlaw Nationals at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite.
Three nights of racing featured three winners. Easter break gave three visiting NASCAR drivers a chance to race with the tour, but none of them fared particularly well. Kasey Kahne and Tony Stewart failed to crack the top 10, while Christopher Bell improved throughout the weekend and finished fourth in the Outlaw Nationals finale.
Meanwhile in the USCS, Morgan Turpen swept the Hurricane Hustle weekend.
