“I don’t know why they boo me so much here,” Scott Bloomquist said after winning the Jackson 100 September 23, which was his 13th win at Brownstown (IN) Speedway. “I guess it’s because they have had so many good drivers from this area.”

Two of those Indiana natives followed him across the line with Jason Jameson in second and the phenomenal rookie Hudson O’Neal in third. Huddy’s father, Don also landed in the top 10 with a ninth-place finish.

Jameson mounted a charge late in the 100-lap affair, but never really pulled to within striking distance of the leader. “When I got to second, I thought I had a shot at [Bloomquist],” Jameson said. “The car was firing off well on restarts. If we would have had another caution, I think we would have had a good shot at him.”

O’Neal was competing in only his second Jackson 100. He ran second in most of this year’s edition before settling for third.

Jimmy Owens and Gregg Satterlee rounded out the top five.
