Former NHRA Pro Stock Champion, Tanner Gray, went back to his roots last weekend at the NHRA Reading Nationals to fill in for an ill Deric Kramer. Gray comes from an NHRA heavy family and early in his career he followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Johnny (Funny Car), his father Shane (Pro Stock), and his uncle Jonathan (Pro Mod). Tanner entered the Pro Stock scene in 2017 alongside his father with a two-car team under the Gray Motorsports umbrella. He blew away the competition to earn the NHRA Rookie Of The Year award in 2017 and became the youngest competitor to win an NHRA National Event as well as the youngest to win a NHRA World Champion after winning it all in 2018 with 8 season victories.

Just four weeks after Chris Rini scored his long-awaited first victory in Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous, the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) veteran raced his way to the winner’s circle yet again Saturday night at the Summit Racing Equipment Northern Nationals presented by Penske Racing Shocks. Racing at Maple Grove Raceway, Rini squared off against three-time world champion Jim Halsey in the final round, running a 3.73-second pass at 202 MPH to get the win.

The PDRA returns to the Keystone State with the Summit Racing Equipment PDRA Northern Nationals Presented by Penske Racing Shocks on August 11-13, 2022, at Pennsylvania’s beloved Maple Grove Raceway.

For the first time ever, the PDRA heads to Pennsylvania with the PDRA Northern Nationals presented by P2 Contracting as the event will be held at Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton over the weekend of August 12-14.
