Georgetown Speedway is set to host a huge weekend featuring the Camp Barnes Benefit Race and the final race of the Short Track Super Series Elite season.

GEORGETOWN, DE – Georgetown Speedway hosts the most lucrative three-day weekend in Delaware dirt-track history with a combined tripleheader of the Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race, Melvin L. Joseph Memorial and Mid-Atlantic Championship Thursday-Saturday Oct. 27-29.

A total of $182,715 in purse money will be distributed over the three days of racing.

This never-before-seen event will also crown champions of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By Sunoco Halmar International ‘Elite’ Series, Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply South Region, and Belmont’s Garage Crate 602 Sportsman South Region, in addition to the year-long Georgetown Speedway Sunoco Championship Series titlists.

The weekend kicks off on Thursday (Oct. 27) with the postponed Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race, headlined by the J.W. Brown Logging Modifieds (30 laps, $5,500 to win) and Super Late Models (25 laps, $5,500 to win). Also on the Thursday docket: Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman ($1,500 to win), First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models ($1,500 to win), Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers.

Friday night (Oct. 28) drops the green flag on Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend.

The STSS Modifieds of the Halmar International ‘Elite’ Series and Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply South Region take part in 15-lap Qualifying Races to set the stage for Saturday’s rescheduled Melvin L. Joseph Memorial.

Super Late Models return to the half-mile oval on Friday with group time trials and heat races.

The PA/NJ Spec Small-Block Modifieds race 30 laps for a potential $5,000 to win (*with $100 “Gambler’s Fee” posted, $4,000 to win with $50 “Gambler’s Fee” posted, $3,000 without) on Friday in addition to the First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models (20 laps, $1,000 to win), Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers.

Saturday (Oct. 29) features the Melvin L. Joseph Memorial STSS Modified 40-lap, $25,000-to-win event, the finale of the Halmar International ‘Elite’ Series, Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply South Region and the richest dirt Modified race ever contested in Delaware.

The Melvin L. Joseph Memorial event on Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend serves as the milestone 150th Modified event in Short Track Super Series history.

Super Late Models take part in a 40-lap feature event with up to $7,000 going to the winner (with $100 “Gambler’s Fee” posted, $6,000 with $50 “Gambler’s Fee” posted, $5,000 without).

STSS Crate 602 Sportsman race for 25 laps in pursuit of a $1,500 payday in the final Belmont’s Garage South Region event. Also competing on Saturday, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers.

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
