One of the biggest Micro Sprint events of the season takes place this week, October 20-22, at Port City Raceway. Find important information about the event including the format, entry list, event schedule and how to watch in this edition of "Everything You Need to Know" on FloRacing.

The Race

The KKM Giveback Classic is an annual Micro Sprint event promoted by championship car owner Keith Kunz. After being hosted at Millbridge Speedway in North Carolina in 2018 and 2020, the event moved to Port City Raceway in Oklahoma last year. The winner of Saturday's main event will earn a Keith Kunz Motorsports ride for the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals and a $7,500 check, or the winner can elect to forego the ride and take a $15,000 check.

The Track

Port City Raceway is a 1/8-mile clay oval located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The track hosts Micro Sprints event on nearly a weekly basis during the summer, as well as other major events throughout the year. Touring series such as the USAC National Midget Championship and POWRi Midgets have also made stops at the track in recent years.

The Format

The format used for the KKM Giveback classic will be very similar to what is used at the Tulsa Shootout and Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals.

- If there are more than 80 cars at the event (currently 82 entered) drivers will be split into two groups for Thursday and Friday preliminary nights. If there are less than 80 cars, every car will race in both preliminary nights.

- Drivers will earn points each time they hit the race track during qualifying, heat races and qualifiers.

- Qualifying will be used to line up the heat races, with a four-car inversion for each heat.

- Qualifier lineups will be set based on points earned in qualifying and qualifying heats, with a four-car inversion for each qualifier.

- The preliminary feature lineups will be set based on points earned in qualifying, heat races and qualifiers.

- The top four finishers from each night's preliminary feature will qualify for Saturday's main event. The remainder of Saturday's A-Main lineup will be set based on points earned on Thursday and Friday night.

Storylines

- With this year's event being streamed live on FloRacing, an additional $2,500 has been added to the winner's check courtesy of FloRacing if the driver decides to accept the Chili Bowl ride with Keith Kunz Motorsports. This will lead to a tough decision of whether to take $7,500 and the Chili Bowl ride or the $15,000 check.

- Jesse Colwell won the inaugural race in 2018 and accepted the ride before going on to finish in the B-Main in his Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals debut. Brian Carber won the race in 2019 and decided to take the money; however, fans raised enough money through a GoFund Me page to still send Carber to the event where he finished 12th in a C-Main. Last year, Steven Snyder, Jr. accepted the ride and saw his Chili Bowl end in the J-Main.

- Which state will earn the KKM Giveback Classic victory? California (Colwell), Pennsylvania (Carber) and Maryland (Snyder) have all been represented in KKM Giveback Classic victory lane thus far. With the race now being held in Oklahoma, the local Sooners will be eager to defend their home turf. A handful of other states including North Carolina will also be represented this week.
