The most sought-after trophy in dirt late model racing will be up for grabs September 8-10 during the 52nd World 100 at Eldora Speedway. With over a week remaining until the event, 57 drivers have already filed entries with more drivers expected to enter in the days leading into the prestigious race. 

Currently, drivers from 18 states and two Canadian provinces are represented on the entry list. The list includes former World 100 winners, national touring series champions, regional stars and many of the biggest names in dirt late model racing. 

Jonathan Davenport, the most recent World 100 winner and the winner of the Eldora Million in June, headlines the list of early entries. Davenport is a four-time winner of the World 100 and has been the driver to beat over the last decade at Eldora Speedway. 

In addition to Davenport, a stout list of former World 100 winners are on the entry list for the 52nd Annual World 100. That list includes six-time winner Billy Moyer, two-time winner Jimmy Owens, 2005 winner Dale McDowell, 2008 winner Shane Clanton and 2016 winner Bobby Pierce. 

One of the hottest drivers in dirt late model racing this year, Chris Madden, has also filed an entry for the event. Madden is seeking his first crown jewel win at "The Big E" but hopes to cross that item off his bucket list prior to the World 100. The driver of car number 44 leads the Dirt Late Model Dream with 14 laps completed and will look to finish the job on Wednesday, September 7 when that race resumes. 

Former Dirt Late Model Dream winner Brandon Sheppard is also expected to compete in the event as he seeks his first World 100 victory. 

Other notable entries include Tyler Erb, Ricky Thornton Jr., Kyle Bronson, Hudson O'Neal, Brian Shirley and Kyle Strickler.

The 52nd World 100 weekend begins Wednesday, September 7 with the completion of the 2022 Dirt Late Model Dream. The all-new "Chasing the Dreams" races will also be held for drivers who have not won a race at Eldora and are not in the field for the Dirt Late Model Dream. 

On Thursday, all focus will shift to the most prestigious race in dirt late model racing: the World 100. Preliminary action including time trials, heat races, last chance races and twin $10,000-to-win preliminary features will be held both Thursday and Friday night. 

That will set the stage for the big show on Saturday, September 10 when one driver will put their name in the history books as the winner of the 52nd World 100.
