GEORGETOWN, DE – It’s a “Late Model” kind of night. If you’re a Late Model fan in Southern Delaware, this is your time. After a shortened ‘Melvin L. Joseph Memorial’ in early March, Georgetown Speedway fires back to speed on Thursday, April 14.

The second running of the ‘Mark Williams Memorial’ returns to the Sussex County facility for the Super Late Models.

The Super Late Models do battle for 26 laps and a $3,026 payday with the ‘26’ honoring the late ‘Coot’ Williams, the popular Delmarva competitor who passed away in October of 2018.

Georgetown, Del.’s Ross Robinson won the ‘Mark Williams Memorial’ last season after leading all 26 laps of the 2021 edition.

Making it a complete Late Model night, the First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models continue the ‘Battle of the Bay’ week with a 30-lap, $3,000-to-win feature event.

The progressively banked half-mile hosts night No. 2 of the four-day race week of racing for the RUSH Late Model Series.

Western Pennsylvania’s Michael Duritsky claimed the First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Model race as part of the ‘Melvin L. Joseph Memorial’ season opener.

Joining the Late Models will be the Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Car Club, Delaware Super Trucks, & Delmarva Chargers in 12-lap, feature-only events.

For the April 14 event, pit gates open at 4 p.m. with grandstands following at 5 p.m. Hot laps are slated to begin at 6:20 p.m. and racing is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $20 for Adults, $16 for Seniors (ages 65 & up) and Students (ages 13-17). Kids (ages 9-12) are $10 admission and Children 8 & under get in FREE.

Pit admission is $40 (ages 13 & up). $10 for Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 for Children ages 5 & under.

The night of racing, along with every Georgetown Speedway race in 2022, will be broadcast LIVE on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv).

The Monster Truck Racing League (MTRL) visits Georgetown Speedway the week prior (April 8 & 9). For advanced ticket sales for the MTRL, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/monster-truck-madness-tickets-261252712897.
