You can only score your first win in a series one time, and Tanner Reif made sure he made his first ARCA Menards Series West victory a night to remember.

Reif drove to the win in the NAPA Auto Parts 150 at California’s Irwindale Speedway in dominating fashion on Saturday night, leading every single lap from the pole position. Even a late caution and a NASCAR Overtime restart couldn’t slow Reif down as he drove to the win by 1.494 seconds over Cole Moore.

“This has been the best day of my damn life,” said the 16-year-old Reif in victory lane. “I’m out of breath. I can’t believe it.”

Reif was out of breath because he’d just climbed the Irwindale frontstretch fest in a jubilant victory lane celebration that had the massive crowd roaring in approval.

“I think this is the first of many,” Reif said. “I think we’re here to stay. This team does such a good job, and I train every day and I dedicate my life to this.”

In the closing laps of Saturday’s 150-lap feature, Trevor Huddleston and Jake Drew were battling tooth-and-nail for the runner-up position before Drew made contact with a lapped car resulting in the night’s final caution.

On the ensuing Overtime restart, Huddleston and Drew got together entering the first turn. Both drivers were able to continue with damage, but that was the opening Moore needed to slip by into second.
