(Editor's Note: Bridgeport Motorsports Park officials announced Thursday afternoon that Saturday and Sunday's racing has been canceled. The track will still host racing on Friday as planned.)

A busy weekend of racing action will serve as the launching pad for the 50th year of competition at Bridgeport Motorsports Park this weekend. The Kingdom of Speed Weekend at the New Jersey dirt oval will feature three days of racing that includes Modifieds, Sprint Cars and more.

The three-day event is highlighted by Sunday's 60-lap Modified main event that will pay $6,000 to the winner.

Sunday's Modified main event will feature some of the biggest names and hottest drivers in Modified racing.

Ryan Godown, the defending Modified track champion at Bridgeport, will look to continue a hot start to his 2022 season with another big victory. Godown won the inaugural Short Track Super Series Elite race at Cherokee Speedway in February before following it up with a Short Track Super Series South Region win at Port Royal Speedway last weekend.

Another driver who has had a strong start to the season is Billy Pauch, Jr., who will be embarking on a busy triple-header weekend at Bridgeport. In addition to competing in the Modified race, Pauch plans to compete in the URC 360 Sprint Car event and USAC All-Pro SpeedSTR's event on Saturday.

Pauch Jr. will not be the only Pauch competing during the Kingdom of Speed Weekend. Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Famer Billy Pauch will also be chasing a big victory to kick off the 2022 season.

Other Modified drivers planning to compete include Tim Buckwalter, Duane Howard, Anthony Perrego, Dominick Buffalino, Frank Cozze, Matt Stangle, Craig Von Dohren, Danny Bouc and more.

Jimmy Blewett, who is fresh off a Tour-type Modified championship during the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway, will also be strapping into a Dirt Modified for Sunday's event.

Action gets underway Friday at Bridgeport Motorsports Park with MASS Sprint Cars, 602 Sportsman and Street Stocks all competing in feature races. Warmups begin at 6:15 p.m. with heats, b-mains and features to follow.

Saturday's action will be highlighted by the first NY Penn IMCA Modified Series event at the track. Racing legend and highly-respected driver Ken Schrader will be competing in the $2,000-to-win race. URC 360 Sprint Cars and USAC All-Pro SpeedSTR's will also be in action Saturday night, with warmups scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.

Two days of racing set the stage for the $6,000-to-win Doug Hoffman Memorial for Modifieds on Sunday afternoon. A $2,000-to-win Sportsman race and a 4 Cylinder feature will also be contested. Warmups get underway at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Fans unable to make it to Bridgeport Motorsports Park for any of the action will be able to watch all three days of racing live on FloRacing. If you're not already a FloRacing subscriber, click here to join today
