"When it's too cold for everyone else, it's just right for the Posse."

That's the message displayed on event t-shirts for Sunday's traditional Icebreaker event at Lincoln Speedway. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the Sprint Car event has been pushed back 24 hours due to weather.

Weather permitting, the Icebreaker is held each year during the month of February and serves as the season opener for Sprint Car racing in Central Pennsylvania.

With temperatures expected to hit a high near 40 degrees, hardcore fans in the region will brave the elements to see Sprint Cars battle for the first time this season. Many of the region's top Sprint Car drivers, better known as the PA Posse, will be competing with hopes of becoming the first winner of the new season.

Tim Wagaman enters the race as the defending winner, while Danny Dietrich claimed his second Icebreaker victory in 2020. Pennsylvania legend and National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Fred Rahmer has the most opening day wins at Lincoln with seven.

Freddie Rahmer, the son of Fred Rahmer, is the defending Lincoln Speedway track champion after collection four wins in 2021.

Sunday's main event for 410 Sprint Cars will be 30 laps and pay $5,000 to the winner.

Grandstand gates are scheduled to open at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, with racing getting underway at 3 p.m. ET.

Fans unable to attend the event in person will be able to catch all of the action live on FloRacing. If you're not already a subscriber, click here to become one today and enjoy nearly 2,000 live races in 2022.
