Who To Watch Wednesday At The Lucas Oil Chili Bowl
Wednesday's Lucas Oil Chili Bowl preliminary night features Rico Abreu, Brad Sweet, Sammy Swindell and more.
Welcome to day three in Tulsa for the 36th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals. The third preliminary night brings us both the good and the bad.
The good is that this week’s Chili Bowl is living up to the hype and you can expect the same tonight. The first two nights offered thrilling racing, dramatic storylines, first-time winners, soup runs, and so much more.
The bad is that after tonight we’re officially halfway through the week and that means only three nights of racing remaining. Time to soak it in and enjoy it while we can.
A field of 79 cars – the largest of the week – highlights Wednesday’s preliminary show, which can be seen exclusively on FloRacing. We’ll have nine Heat Races, two D-Mains, two C-Mains, four Qualifiers, two B-Mains, and the 30-lap preliminary A-Main.
Rico Abreu, a six-time preliminary winner, enters tonight with four consecutive Wednesday wins under his belt. He’s stuck with Keith Kunz Motorsports through it all and brought back the Rowdy Energy, Pit Pay App #97 this week. Both McIntosh and Larson lost their streaks, now Abreu will try to keep his rolling.
One of his biggest contenders will be three-time and defending World of Outlaws Sprint Cars champion Brad Sweet. The Big Cat has yet to win a Chili Bowl preliminary A-Main but is quick as ever aboard Rusty Kunz and RMS Racing’s #1R.
The five-time Chili Bowl champion Sammy Swindell also goes tonight in pursuit of a ninth preliminary win which will extend his record even further.
Other notable names include Colby Copeland, Blake Hahn, Jason McDougal, Robert Dalby, Kevin Thomas Jr., Parker Price-Miller, Chance Crum, Corey Day, Ryan Timms,
