Indoor Season Heads To Du Quoin For USAC's Jason Leffler Memorial

The Dome was a downright banger, but now Du Quoin has the privilege of trying to follow that thrill show as #IndoorSZN continues on FloRacing this Saturday night.

Paying $8,000-to-win the Jason Leffler Memorial, Saturday's USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget special event is the final opportunity for these teams to shake down their machines ahead of the iconic Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals on Jan. 10-15.

Headlining the near 40-car entry list is Christopher Bell of Norman, Okla., a 3x Chili Bowl champion turned NASCAR Cup Series star at Joe Gibbs Racing.

Since parting ways with Chad Boat and CB Industries, CBell has made waves with his reunion with Keith Kunz and Pete Willoughby, but now makes his first-ever start in Matt Estep’s RMS Racing No. 7TX at Du Quoin. The former Southern Illinois Center winner is still entered for Chili Bowl aboard the KKM No. 71W, but for now all focus is on a momentum-building W on Saturday night.

Bell’s fellow NASCAR counterpart, Chase Briscoe of Mitchell, Ind., will also debut his new partnership with Mahindra Tractors, a Stewart-Haas Racing Cup Series sponsorship which trickled down to Briscoe’s dirt racing roots and backs his Chili Bowl campaign next month.

Zach Daum of Pocahontas, Ill. is entered for tomorrow as the only former winner of the Jason Leffler Memorial, an event which is normally held at Wayne County Speedway. Daum will be driving the Jack Harris No. 91 and hopes to become the first repeat winners in eight years of the event.

The newly formed Dave Mac / Dalby Motorsports squad is bringing three cars to the “Mini Magic Mile” with 2x Chili Bowl preliminary winner Cannon McIntosh of Bixby, Okla., reigning Tulsa Shootout Winged Outlaw champion Mitchel Moles of Raisin City, Calif., and Austin Barnhill behind the wheel with Robert Dalby on the wrenches.

New Berllin, Ill. native and former POWRi National Midget champion Jake Neuman is also entered aboard his No. 3N and looking for a big win before chasing his third Chili Bowl A-Main start in January.

Rudeen Racing’s operation headed by Tyler “Rizzy” Ransbottom will also bring two cars tomorrow to the Southern Illinois Center with All Star Circuit of Champions regular Cory Eliason of Visalia, Calif. and rising star Chance Crum of Snohomish, Wash. at the controls.

A whole fleet of others are expected to head to Du Quoin tomorrow as USAC offers a cool $8,000-to-win the eighth annual Jason Leffler Memorial. If you can’t be there, you can watch all the action live on FloRacing.

Following this weekend, #IndoorSZN transitions to Tulsa, Okla. as the 37th Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout (Dec. 29 – Jan. 1) and 36th Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals (Jan. 10-15) take centerstage inside the SageNet Center, both which are broadcasted live on FloRacing.
