Fall Classic Tradition Continues At Whynot Motorsports Park

A fall tradition continues this weekend in Mississippi with the 27th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park. The three-day event will be highlighted by a $15,000-to-win Super Late Model main event on Saturday, October 23.

With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season concluded and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series off for the weekend, some of the best Dirt Late Model racers in the country are expected to compete in the event.

Among those drivers who are planning to compete is defending race winner Dennis Erb. Jr., who broke through for his first win in the event in 2020. Although official entries have not been announced for the race, Erb has the Fall Classic listed on the schedule on his website.

The same can be said for a pair of Late Model stars. Last year’s runner-up Cade Dillard and National Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Darrell Lanigan are both planning to compete in the Fall Classic.

Last year, 43 cars attempted to qualify for the race.

Recent Fall Classic winners include Scott Bloomquist (2017), Devin Moran (2018), Ashton Winger (2019) and Dennis Erb Jr. (2020).

This weekend’s action kicks off Thursday night with practice from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET.

On Friday night, drivers will participate in qualifying and heat races to set the grid for Saturday’s main event. The driver’s meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET, with hot laps and qualifying to follow.

Saturday’s action will begin at 4:30 p.m. ET with hot laps for all divisions.Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, Open Wheel Modifieds, Factory Stocks and 602 Late Models will join Super Late Models on the schedule.

B-Mains for the Super Late Models and a Non-Qualifiers Race paying $1,000 to win will be held prior to the $15,000-to-win main event.
